MCC Meat Canner

Thanks to all for a successful mobile meat canning event in April of 2019.

Nearly 500 volunteers over the course of the event helped cut, cook, and can over 12,000 pounds of turkey thigh meat.  Out of nearly 8000 cans of finished product, over 750 cans stayed in Lewis County for local distribution.  We had enough donations to cover our costs - THANK YOU!  Donations are now being accepted for next year.  We will do it again.  2021 dates are April 9-10! More information to come!

MCC's meat canner has served communities in need each year since 1946. We're excited to help! Ten percent of the finished product will be distributed locally. As host, our responsibilities include purchasing the meat and financing the operating costs of the mobile canner while it's at our site.
