THE 2021 MEAT CANNING EVENT ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 9-10 HAS BEEN CANCELED.  THE CANNING COMMITTEE IS THINKING ABOUT SOME ALTERNATE PROJECTS TO SUPPORT.  MORE INFORMATION TO COME.

Thanks to all for a successful mobile meat canning event in April of 2019.

Nearly 500 volunteers over the course of the event helped cut, cook, and can over 12,000 pounds of turkey thigh meat.  Out of nearly 8000 cans of finished product, over 750 cans stayed in Lewis County for local distribution.  We had enough donations to cover our costs - THANK YOU!

Mennonite Central Committee's meat canner has served communities in need each year since 1946. We're excited to help! Ten percent of the finished product is distributed locally. As host, our responsibilities include purchasing the meat and financing the operating costs of the mobile canner while it's at our site.

All donations will remain available for future meat canning projects or any alternate project connected with Mennonite Central Committee.  More information available soon.

We're excited to partner with the Mennonite Central Committee, local churches of all denominations, and the north country community.
